The purpose of the operation is to increase the volume of the breasts as well as to improve their curve and projection through the implantation of prostheses. This operation consists in placing prostheses, thereby correcting mammary hypoplasia, which is insufficient development of the breasts in relation to the patient's morphology. This hypoplasia may be evident after the end of puberty, but it may also appear as a secondary effect of emaciation (significant weight loss), or it may be observed after a pregnancy followed by breastfeeding. There are cases when mammary hypoplasia can be accompanied by a ptosis or mammary release, which translates into a drooping of the breast and sagging of the skin.

All breast prostheses currently used in cosmetic surgery are composed of a wrapping capsule and the filling product contained within it. The capsule consists of elastic silicone (silicone elastomer), while the filling product is silicone gel. The capsule can be smooth or textured and its dimensions are different. Each surgeon has his own surgical technique with which he operates, but still, the basic principles of the intervention are the same. The operative method is decided according to several criteria, the patient's wishes, the surgeon's way of working and the anatomical environment. The prosthesis is inserted through an incision (small incision) which can be made; above the areola, in the armpit or in the lower fold of the breast. The prosthesis is positioned in relation to the pectoral muscle. So. the prosthesis you will have will be placed either behind the mammary gland and in front of the pectoral muscle or behind the mammary gland and behind the pectoral muscle. This operation requires general anesthesia. The average length of stay in the hospital/clinic is 24 hours.
