A lift of the inner thighs is performed when there is a release of skin on the inner thighs, which cannot be solved with liposuction alone. In these cases, it is necessary to pull the skin and tighten it to correct the appearance of the thighs. The intervention is aimed at removing visible excess skin, reducing the fat underneath it and tightening the skin on the inside.

Before the intervention

The surgeon will ask you to perform medical tests to rule out any possible contraindications to the intervention and any risks that may be associated with it. You must also visit the anesthesiologist about 48 hours before the intervention. It is advisable to avoid taking aspirin-based medications at least 10 days before the intervention.

Anesthesia

The lifting of the inner part of the thighs is performed under deep local anesthesia with sedatives that are administered intravenously. In special cases, general anesthesia may also be needed, especially when the intervention is accompanied by other surgical acts. However, this is a decision that is made after discussion between you and the doctors, surgeon and anesthetist.

interference

Each surgeon adopts his own method which he adapts to the case to be treated in order to achieve the best results. However, the basic principles of this intervention are the same. The incision is made in the natural fold at the base of the thigh, extends inside the fold to continue in its back until the buttock fold, where it ends. This incision also corresponds to the future scar. In cases where there is a fatty infiltration of the area, the surgeon can propose a liposuction that is performed within the same operating time. Excess skin is removed and proceeded with a deep fixation, at the level of the aponeurotic ligament found in the inner part of the thigh, in order to achieve the correction of the drop, avoid the downward drop of the scar and ensure a continuity of normal anatomy and harmonious. The scar is hidden inside and will always remain so. At the end of the intervention, a bandage is made with elastic bandages or a special corset is worn.

After the intervention

You can usually leave the clinic/hospital the day after the intervention. The first to appear are edemas and ecchymoses, which disappear spontaneously after 15-20 days. The pains are not strong, they are limited to the area of the intervention and come mainly as a result of performing certain actions (sudden movements, stretching, etc.). It is recommended absolute rest the first days after the intervention and avoidance of physical exertion for at least 1 month. The scar may be slightly red during the first 3 months, but after 3 months its color normalizes. Exposure to the sun should also be avoided for 3 months after the intervention.
